Besides being picture book week at books4yourkids.com, it's actually Picture Book Month! How did I forget that?  Follow the link for some really fantastic articles by authors and illustrators about what picture books mean to them.

In other exciting picture book news, the superb blog Seven Impossible Things Before Breakfast, run by Julie Danielson, ran a feature on one of my favorite illustrator/authors, Matthew Cordell. I love to see how the sausage is made, so to speak, and Jules's piece shows Matthew at work as well as several studies and samples he worked on when creating the book hello! hello! which is run-out-and-buy-it-now-amazing!

Click HERE to read, "A Visit with Matthew Cordell to Talk About What Is Still My Favorite Picture Book of the Year."

I strongly encourage you to click through and read the whole article and enjoy the plethora of illustrations, but here are a few appetizers!
