My Dad Thinks He's Funny by Katrina Germein, illustrated by Tom Jellett

Thanks to my husband, my eight-year-old has his first pet peeve. Whenever he tells his dad he is hungry, this is what he hears, "Nice to meet you, Hungry!" Of course a book titled My Dad Thinks He's Funny is going to be a hit in our house, but I have a feeling that it will be popular in many homes since suspect that my husband is not alone in his specific sense of humor...

My Dad Thinks He's Funny by Katrina Germein and illustrated by Tom Jellett is pretty one note, but honestly, so are most dad's jokes. Father's Day is around the corner and I definitely think this is a book worth giving! My son and I had a very fun time reading it, laughing about the jokes that we have heard often in our own home and my husband took it in stride, laughing with us. Jellett's illustrations are perfectly matched to the text, framing the jokes with layered, cartoonish characters and settings that, with their collage-like-style, add to the humor of the book.
