Kate DiCamillo named National Ambassador for Young People's Literature!

"Stories Connect Us" - Kate DiCamillo

Newbery author Kate Di Camillo has been chosen as the new National Ambassador of Young People's Literature, taking over from Walter Dean Myers. In 2008, inaugural post was awarded to Jon Scieszka with the goal of raising awareness and promoting literature for children with the hopes of competing against the constant pressure from other forms of entertainment like video games and television. For more about DiCamillo, check out this great article in the New York Times by Julie Bosman.
