BOOKS AS ART : Artful Living by Kelly Campbell Berry
BOOKS AS ART
Almost a year ago I featured images of Mysterious Paper Sculptures that were left about the Scottish Poetry Library in 2011.Here is one of the sculptures and you can click the link to see more. Not only are they amazingly crafted, but they came with curious gift tags that only heightened the mystery.
Now I present to you artist, sculptor and bibliophile Kelly Campbell Berry and her creations, which can be viewed and purchased through her Etsy Shop. Of her creations, Berry says,:
I am truly amazed at the ability some people have to arrange words in
such a way that we, the readers, can actually ‘see’ into the imagined
world of the writer. We relate, feel, and become invested in the
characters so deeply that we are pulled into their world for a brief
moment of escape. In some cases I remember certain books with such
fondness that I feel as it I experienced them. I still have a connection
to Stewart Little and the Borrowers. Books, for me, come alive. That is
why I have started creating book sculptures. My book sculptures are my
way of showing what the words on the pages create in the imagination of
the readers.
Spectacular! Enjoy these images and know that Berry has book art for ALICE IN WONDERLAND, PETER PAN, KING ARTHUR, SHAKESPEARE and LORD OF THE RINGS in the works...
