What's in Your Purse? by Abigail Samoun, illustrated by Nathalie Dion

There are so many reasons why What's in Your Purse?, written by Abigail Samoun and illustrated by Nathalie Dion, is a fantastic new book that kids will love. Even by the time I was nine or ten, I still loved going through the mysterious realm that was my mother's purse. And, how many times have you handed over your purse to a restless toddler while stuck in an interminable waiting area of one kind or another? Also, What's in Your Purse? is quite simply a very fun interactive lift-the-flap book that  will appeal to any and all inquisitive types.

Mom, Auntie, Grandma, Sis and the narrator all have a purse that can be opened and explored. When opened, the text on flap of the purse asks readers to spot some items, do some counting and do some reading to answer questions about the items found inside. While there is a compact (with a mirror inside) the stereotypically feminine items an few. The purses include a diverse array of fascinating things from a passport to a novel to a journal and each, except for the narrator's, have wallets to open and explore.
