Little Feminist Board Book Set, text by Emily Kleinman, illustrations by Lydia Ortiz, all ages

Activists, Artists, Leaders and Pioneers are featured in this fantastic Little Feminist Board Book set that is a MUST for all babies. Written by Emily Kleinman and illustrated by Lydia Ortiz, each well chosen subject gets a succinct sentence and an engaging illustration to introduce young (and sometimes old) readers to important women who made and are making history.

This set was published a year ago and stands out among the growing number of kid's books - and board books - featuring feminists. As with the Little Scientists Board Book Set by the same duo, the author and illustrator make these important people accessible. As I've said in past reviews, I was once skeptical about introducing what once seemed like ideas, concepts and movements for older kids and adults in a board book format, but in the past couple of years I have come to embrace the importance of talking about equity as early as possible. The Little Feminist Board Book set is a great way to do that!
